Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union was formed by Mary Sumner in 1896 and in the last decade membership worldwide has increased from 1 million to 4 million members in 81 countries.

St. Elisabeth's are part of a joint branch with St. John the Baptist, Upperby and their meetings are held mainly at St. John's, fortnightly on Thursdays at 2pm.

Membership of the Mothers' Union is open to anyone who has been baptised in the Holy Trinity and who declares their support for the aims and objectives of the society. Male or female married or single we welcome everyone.

The meetings begin with a short service including hymns, prayers and reflections followed by various speakers and demonstrators. We meet for summer outings and festive meals. We join other Deanery branches at various times throughout the year for special services and events.
