'St. Elisabeth's Project - Urban Priority' otherwise known as Step Up, is for everyone.
It’s a 20/20 vision for a 2020 community. It’s about how we can serve the neighbourhood. Our church family has grown and we have begun to consider how the building might ‘grow’, both for the existing members and the wider community.
The outcome, after extensive consultation, is a plan to build a new community sports hall, which can double as a function room. There will also be a community café and new accessible toilets and showers. Outside, the grounds will be landscaped and the café will have an enclosed garden at the back. We already have planning permission for this exciting new venture, and hope we can count on your support. Its an exciting opportunity for us all to Step Up together.
You can help by Stepping In to the Project.
The vision is for the building to be up and running by 2020 – ready for you to use! We want you to come along and make the most of what is on offer. to the sports hall for team sports or classes (it will be high enough for badminton), or hire the room for a function or party.
Step In and use the community café, which will be open six days a week. Step In with your children and help them to attend everything from groups for pre-schoolers to 15-18 year olds.
Step In to learn something new; there will be classes offered from cookery to debt management, crafting to positive parenting, and other things based on your suggestions. We want you to and to have an opinion on what’s on offer.
Once you have Stepped In to try out the Step Up facilities, we hope you will then Step Out into the community and share your story.
Use your new skills to get the best out of life for you and your family. We hope you will have enjoyed being part of the project and will bring your family and friends to share in what is on offer. We want you to keep Stepping Up, In and Out of the project: helping it to grow to help others.
Initially we need help with our fundraising costs. We have raised some of the money so far, and are working hard to raise more. St. Elisabeth’s building is 50 this year, so we are in the middle of a 50-50 challenge, where individuals do 50 things to raise funds. You may have seen some of the younger members of our community shown in The News and Star making 50 packets of reindeer dust at Christmas! We hope you can help with the Step Up Project.
